Elevate Your Energy
Hi Becky, thank you for your question. I would definitely avoid dyes, additives and refined sugars in food, although it sounds like you are already keeping your child away from this type of processed food. Make sure your child is getting a balance of carb, protein (especially) and fat with each meal. Your child may or may not have GI issues and that is a good place to start – that along with enough B vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids will help. I personally love the book Last Child in the Woods about the importance of nature and how it does wonders for children with ADD or ADHD.
Hi Christa! I was wondering what your opinion was on The Whole 30 Diet?
Have gone on a gluten/soy, mostly dairy-free and refined sugars free diet for family. I just about cried when the teacher handed me the slip of paper asking me to get my child to the dr. and on ADD meds. A lot of difficulty with focusing and paying attention. Are there specific foods to def. avoid and specific foods to def eat to help this situation? THANK YOU!! P.S.: I have listened to several of your interviews on Underground Wellness and more, they are awesome!
Hi Mollie,
Thank you for following The Whole Journey. The Dark Side of Fat Loss is a great book to read for physical health and Nourishing Wisdom is a good book to read for relationship to food. For cookbooks, The Whole Journey Food as Medicine Cookbook (which can be bought on our website) and The Self-Healing Cookbook are great to get started. Good luck with your new journey.
I’m just starting on this journey. What book would you recommend reading first? And which cookbook to jump start the process? Thank you!
