FOOD AS MEDICINE NOTES:
Garlic– Garlic is rich in the compound called Allicin, which has potent medicinal properties, including antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal.
Ginger – The active component in ginger is Gingerol, which is full of anti-inflammatory benefits from supporting digestion to helping with nausea.
Turmeric – A potent anti-inflammatory spice which protects the body from free radicals and cools down inflammation throughout the body. Did you know curcumin (the active component in turmeric) boosts brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)? Which is a protein that is needed for brain function.
SO NICE PINEAPPLE SHOT
How long will this last in the refrigerator
Hi Tina – it will last a while but hard to give an exact time frame. Use the smell test:)
How long would this remedy last in the fridge?
My food allergy chart says I have a very high immune response to pineapple. is it still safe to try this or is there by chance a replacement for the pineapple juice?
Hi Somer! You can substitute with organic, fresh squeezed, orange juice.
Thanks – I really needed this! Delicious and nutritious 🙂
For one of the lemons I put the full flesh into the mixer and juiced the other two lemons.
Also, I just cut up a whole pineapple and put the good flesh and added 1/2 cup of water. Also it was fine without honey.
That sounds delicious and refreshing!
Hi! What should I substitute for honey? I am vegan and I don’t eat honey 🙁
Hi Valerie, Thank you for asking. Stevia is a great alternative sweetener if you don’t eat honey. Christa offers some more options in her blog about artificial sweeteners and how to replace them. I’ve tried this for two days now .. the first time I made it I put to much Cayenne Pepper.. I still dran it made more today .. it really clear my chest and removed the inflammation . I’m feeling a lot better .
Wonderful news, TeeTee. Hope you’re New Year started off super healthy!
Can’t have pepper. , will it work without it?
Do you have to put this in refrigerator and how long would it last
Hi Marc. The juice should be refrigerated and will last up to a week. Thank you! ~Stacey, TWJ Team Member
I use this everyone I feel a cold coming on and it works!!! I’ve kept it in the fridge for a week.
Confused do I juice 3lemons with recipe or it is equivalent to 3 lemons?
How does this work for kids? Do I need to half it or give a full dose? He is 11 is that helps.
I’d cut it with more water or pineapple juice. Depending on age. DEFINITELY NOT FOR those under or close to ONE YEARS OLD OR YOUNGER due to honey ingredient!!
Hi Christa! I started to feel a sore throat coming on today and made your flu shot recipe right when I got home from work and am already feeling better! Thank you so much for your creative inspiring recipes! I can’t get enough of them!
You had me at mercury! Actually I’ve been reading about this on Natural News, well the presence of mercury in vaccines anyway. I have autoimmune Thyroiditis, aka Hashimoto’s, now and have gone to a lot of effort to rid my body of mercury. I’m not going to turn around and let someone inject me with it. Now I can use this blog to better inform my family. Thanks for not just pointing out the issue, but following it up with a natural solution..
I love this juice. It actually tastes really great, even my husband and daughter liked it. I, too, am wondering how long it keeps in the fridge? Like the other commenter I used fresh ginger. Thanks!
Love this and it works. What a lifesaver. I had to use fresh ginger couldn’t find powder. Wondering how long it will last in fridge?
