We're curious, do you love grocery shopping or do you dread it?
We’d love to know in the comments below.
Maybe you're somewhere in between depending on how much time you have and how familiar you are with the store?
When I know the store and have plenty of time, the health food store is one of my happy places.
When it’s a new store, or I’m pressed for time, it’s something I just “get through.”
Maybe you feel the same way?
I know most of my clients did.
That’s why part of their “whole journey” included a tour of our local health food store so that they could become really comfortable shopping in a new way and do it without breaking the bank.
It increased their chances of being successful with eating according to the way I was teaching them.
In an effort to provide you with the same benefits, we shot a 3-part series with FOX for you.
We went on the road to the same health food store I had taken at least 1000 private clients through, Jimbo’s Naturally in Carlsbad, CA.
Here’s what we talk about to hopefully make your shopping easier, cheaper, and of course, healthier!

Part 2: How to Save Money in the Bulk Section
Part 3: What to Look for in your Meat and Fish

What do you think?
Good Evening,
This is Selene Hurtado from Arizona. Before I start, I just would like to say, I love everything The Whole Journey does. You guys are awesome. I have a question and not a comment. I’m not sure how to communicate with customer service, but I have a problem. On 4/25/2019 I purchase Crista’s shopping video series. I believe I received the info via e-mail; however, I think I delete the e-mail without opening it; causing me to loose the information. Is it possible for you to resent without additional cost. Please, let me know if you can assist me. I do apologize for the inconvenience; however, I would be forever thankful so much.
Hi Selene- please email our team! [email protected] we would be happy to help you! 🙂
Where can I find Christa’s shopping list. I am already a subscriber and am also a member of GutThrivein5.
Hi Cheryl! The link to the free shopping list is in the blog or you can click HERE.
The shopping list here is great, but I noticed that the link for the dark liquid stevia actually takes you to a coconut sugar. Can you tell me a recommended brand of dark liquid stevia? Thanks!
Hi Jennifer- Thanks for catching this! You can find that here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EO5RG8/?tag=wwwthewholejo-20
Many of these products are not available in small-town, largely rural areas – or if they are they are high-priced for lower income folks. Could you address this need? Many people want to eat healthier but have a hard time affording it. (I work with the lower income population teaching nutrition and healthy living at my job.)
Hi Coral! Thank you for posting your questions. As Christa mentions in the blog, buying ingredients like beans, seeds, rice, legumes and nuts in the bulk section is much more affordable then buying them prepackaged . Also, choosing fruits and vegetables in season is also more affordable. Finally, if buying everything organic is out of the question stick to the clean 15. You can learn more about them here: https://thewholejourney.com/dirty-dozen-and-clean-15/. Luckily, mainstream grocery stores are catching on and even places like Walmart and Target offer a wide selection of organic, healthy foods these days.
