On today's Food as Medicine, we want to help you make simple, easy, positive changes in your life instead of trying to bite off more than you can chew (pun intended ;).
Our good friend, JJ Virgin, is back on the show because she is the queen of food intolerance and teaches folks how to lose 7lbs in 7 days with these seven simple food swaps.
We swap out the foods below for other foods that taste JUST as good, yet they have no negative interaction in your body.
Get ready to say goodbye to:
1: Soy
2: Dairy
3: Gluten
4: Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners
5: Eggs (this depends on what the chickens ate)
6: Peanuts
7: Corn
Instead of forcing your body to struggle to get through these foods while lowering your thyroid, energy, metabolism, and immune system, our delicious swaps are jam-packed with life-giving nutrition. It’s a simple upgrade.
The Virgin Diet thankfully blows away the old myths about what causes weight gain, fatigue, and poor health, and will have you eating plenty of delicious, anti-inflammatory, healing foods to reclaim your health, reset your metabolism, and gain energy without feeling hungry or deprived. It’s everything we have been preaching, teaching, and living for years.
You will definitely notice positive changes in your body in 7 days.
Now, we want to hear from you.
Which of these swaps are you ready and willing to try?

I love the swaps, I eat most of them now, but the one’s I don’t, I am willing to try. My 3 health goals are: Loosing weight, Healthy body and eliminating night sweet cravings.
Great swaps! Very very interested in the lentil pasta since I have been GF for a few years and now no longer get sick. I will see if it is on Amazon since I live in a rural state. Love these ” Food as Medicene” segments.
This was a great segment, thanks for sharing! I’m a big fan of JJ Virgin’s books and approach to wellness, and already follow those swaps 🙂 Question though: I noticed that the So Delicious No Sugar Added ice creams contain carrageenan, but their regular ice creams (meaning, the ones that’s aren’t “no sugar added”) do not. What are your thoughts on carrageenan? I’ve heard conflicting research on whether or not it’s a harmful ingredient.
My top 3 health goals this year = nourish myself adequately (I’m very underweight, and have a bad habit of undereating); do not overexercise (keep a healthy balance of eating enough and not overexerting myself); and meditating daily for stress-relief and overall wellbeing.
