Get the Metals Out!

Metal toxicity can cause all kinds of symptoms from depression to chronic fatigue to joint pain or GI distress.

I find antioxidant therapy a great way to detox from metals  (after you have detoxed and supported the other organ systems first). It is much safer than chelation. Reducing exposure is essential. Some ways the body picks them up are through hair dyes, cosmetics, tobacco smoke, skin lightening cremes, dental amalgam fillings, canned food, fertilizers, lipstick, batteries, razors, tattoos, shampoo and conditioner, amongst others. Hence another reason to evaluate the things you can control in your environment.

I've never been a big fan of hair analysis tests for metal detection because it's an arduous sample collection and the accuracy, in my opinion, is questionable. However, I am thrilled to be using new blood tests that isolate white blood cells from whole blood specimens to measure the body's immune response to target antigens (in this case all metals). If you suspect you have an overexposure to metals or that you might have metal toxicity, I HIGHLY recommend this test because if metal toxicity is the underlying cause of a thyroid, adrenal, GI or immune/autoimmune issue, that issue will not be cleared up until the metals are out.
