Lab tests get expensive, but sometimes we need them to get to the root of a health issue. However, nine times out of 10, I have clients start with my three favorite at-home tests that are both easy and free. They provide a ton of reliable information as to where you can start to heal yourself.
The first is a pH test. pH is a marker of how acid or alkaline our body chemistry is (i.e. a tool for weight loss, and something you can use to minimize pain and inflammation, as well as to prevent cancer). You see the pH of our blood never changes…ever. If it did, we would die. I know it sounds dramatic, but it’s true. So it’s a great idea to pull out this test a few times a year to have a look at the pH of your morning urine (both the first and second time you pee) and your saliva to see how your body is working just to keep you alive (let alone allow for vibrant health).
If you are acidic, it’s no bueno -and there’s a 100% chance your body is leaching precious minerals from your bones to keep your blood balanced, and keep you alive. Have a look at my acid-alkaline balance blog if you want to know more about which foods do what.
Test number two is for those of you who are chronically exhausted and struggling with digestion. It’s a candida test to see if yeast is out of balance in your system. This doesn’t have to mean that you have a vaginal yeast infection…this could be caused by systemic yeast in the intestinal tract. Sound gross? Don’t worry, as a result of our modern lifestyle, about 50% of us (or more!) is struggling with candida, though most don’t know it. If you come up positive, you should definitely head over to read the blog I wrote about candida – how you get it and how to get rid of it.
Last but certainly not yeast 🙂 is the oh-so-reliable (just as reliable as blood work!) lab test for your thyroid and metabolism function. Are you having trouble losing weight even though you are restricting calories? Can’t sleep? Sleep too much? Mental fog? Feel cold all the time? Constipated? Let’s check your thyroid. Watch the segment to find out how easily you can get this information with just a thermometer and your pulse. Running low? Don’t worry, I gotcha. I’m all about empowering you to know everything you need to know to heal yourself!
I give more details than you can imagine in my blog called “The Thyroid Uncovered” and if you’d rather watch a video than read a blog, check out this Randy & Christa Show episode, all about improving thyroid health. Head over there and fill your head with all you need to heal yourself and be sure to let me know how it all goes! 🙂
Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you a great, healthy week ahead!
